Welcome to our lovely park. We are a group of local residents who have come together with a view to enhancing the beautiful and historic Waterloo Park and to enrich the community spirit already present in the park and the surrounding area. We provide a warm welcome to everyone who comes to the park, to garden with us, to join in our family activities or just to chat with us. We love seeing our whole community enjoying this very special place. In 2024 we helped the park to become recognised as a Garden of Sanctuary.
We are registered with the Charity Commission. Our UK Charity Number: 1197568.
The idea for a Friends Group came from local research carried out by Catton Grove Big Local (supported by the Big Lottery). Residents expressed a strong wish to see Waterloo Park improved and Catton Grove Big Local gave support and a grant to get the Friends of Waterloo Park started.
Membership is open to anyone who wants to promote and improve our lovely park. We organise free events throughout the year to include visitors of all ages. We work with Norwich City Council and support other organisations who use or might wish to use the park.
